6th Biennial Conference of Gastrointestinal Infection Society of India
The organizing committee from Bhopal extends a hearty welcome to you all for the “6th Biennial Conference of Gastrointestinal Infection Society of India – GISICON 2017” from October 26th to 28th, 2017. It is organized by Departments of Microbiology, General Medicine and Paediatrics at All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) Bhopal under the aegis of Gastrointestinal Infection Society of India.
The event will begin with a pre conference workshop/CME which will focus on molecular and recent diagnostic techniques in the field of gastrointestinal infections. A high quality scientific program has been planned for the conference which will strike a balance between the different specialities involved. We are confident that it will provide a rewarding experience.
Bhopal the capital city of Madhya Pradesh is known as the City of Lakes is also one of the greenest cities in India. Sprawled across the Vindhya and Singarcholi mountains is the beautiful Bhopal is a well planned, fast developing city. Wide roads, lush greenery, luxuriant urban spaces and modern buildings in a continuous, undulating terrain make up its beautiful cityscape.
THistory of Bhopal city dates back to the 11th century, when the legendary Raja Bhoja of the Parmara dynasty formed his capital Bhojapal, between two beautiful man made lakes. The largest and the oldest of these lakes– the Upper lake, commonly known as ‘Bada Talab’ the largest man-made lake in India, constitutes the thousand year old heritage of the city. Towards the North you have the old city, a fascinating area of mosques, serpentine alleys, chowks, milling crowds, exotic havelis and crowded bazaars.
The main cultural center of Bhopal is the Bharat Bhavan which has an art gallery, amphitheater, two other theaters and a tribal museum. Van Vihar National Park, which stands proudly right in the middle of the city, has many species of animals living in their natural habitat.
The Organizers are sparing no efforts to present a rich scientific and gastronomic repast. All that needs is your enthusiastic participation. Bhopal and its environs with its rich history, culture and heritage, offers illimitable opportunities to explore and savour.
